Out there like a castaway calling for the sun to come out The last time that you passed away, you returned as a doubt Shrouded up in secrecy is another sneaky shroud Blowing out your vocal chords for cryin' out loud So you used your hands to tell me how you built your case You poked some holes (Ooooooh) to see if all your words would stick Gods and men are heavy tolls (Oooooh) You paid your share You put it in They claimed they never got the check (Oooooh) This town is full of mannequins And you wonder yeah who stacked the deck (Oooooh) Out there like a castaway The last time that you passed away Out there like a castaway The last time that you passed The last time that you passed So you used your hands to tell me how you built your case You poked some holes (Ooooooh) to see if all your words would stick Gods and men are heavy trolls (Oooooh) You paid your share You put it in They claimed they never got the check (Oooooh) This town is full of mannequins And you wonder yeah who stacked the deck (Oooooh) Oh baby this town is full of mannequins This town is full of accidents Who stacked the deck Who Who stacked the deck Who Who stacked the deck Who Who stacked the deck Who

If I had any sense I'd be saved You dig the fence I'll dig the grave Put up a wall Put up your fists Put up your signs Put up with this We caught a firefly in the middle of a winter sky Who's in front Who's in charge Sound the alarm Call off the guards Call all your friends down at the bar Tell them exactly who we are We caught a glimpse (yeah) of an eclipse (yeah) And if that don't leave you changed then nothing's gonna change you now If you ain't feeling strange then you ain't really feeling how Drawing the lines Redrawing lines You could try your way You could try mine You wanna talk that's just fine You don't wanna talk that's alright Sometimes it's a page turner Sometimes it's a slow burner See I got a plan I ain't got shit I got a map and the map's got rips You wanna dance I got hips Out of the faucet water drips Sometimes it's a big flood Sometimes it's seeping in And if that don't leave you changed then nothing's gonna change you now If you ain't feeling strange then you ain't really feeling how You know Venus is often overlooked but Mars don't hold a candle to her I built you a rocket ship All you gotta do is get in If I had any sense I'd be saved You dig the fence I'll dig the grave Put up the wall Put up your fists Put up your signs Put up with this We caught a firefly in the middle of a winter sky

The car lost a tire Somehow we kept going for at least half a mile and we smelled plastic burning And you with that grin and disposable cameras And all of the film that we never developed And I think I grew up by losing momentum The spotlight was mine but I just kept losing my lines There was something you said once It stuck in my head once It must be this place It makes me forget that we used to cross borders It must be my age It makes me forget all the ways I adored you I felt the anomaly right from the get go I lived off of cigarette smoke and those pay phones And I was a child then if you would consider the things that I knew and the things that were bitter And I think I grew up when I lost my religion It's all just bravado and stupid decisions I still have the guilt And I thought I had time But I'm out with my thumb just hitchhiking rides You know it must be this place It makes me forget that we used to cross borders It must be my age It makes me forget all the ways I adored you I think grew up when I lost my religion It's all just bravado and stupid decisions And I still have the guilt I thought I had time I'm out with my thumb just hitchhiking rides You know it must be this place It makes me forget that we used to cross borders It must be my age Makes me forget all the ways I adored you

Oh there goes that Scorpio with the Libra Moon and the Capricorn rising Oh you know, the usual with a twist of lime Just the way I like it The plot unfolds even when you try to stay so still Imperception Maybe to the human eyes But the eyes of god are always watching Oh I need you to calm the fuck right down Cause when no one is around it's when you'll know me best Oh I want you to shut the fuck right up It can be so telepathic A little luck and some mathematics Yeah Oh there goes the neighborhood They're clutching pearls, mouths full of bourbon Oh what will the neighbors say when we show up City in the Big Suburban Killing time You bleed it dry Then you come on back for another helping This type of drive is oversized But maybe it's just' overwhelming Oh I need you to calm the fuck right down Cause when no one is around it's when you'll know me best Oh I want you to shut the fuck right up It can be so telepathic A little luck and some mathematics I didn't even know the name for it see I didn't even see your sign in Saturn I can't remember the last time I saw you stick to any type of normal pattern I'm eating carbohydrates now you know I need something to hold me down for real 'Cause I am just a wayward cloud in motion I am just a wayward cloud in motion I didn't even know the name for it see I didn't even see your sign in Saturn I can't remember the last time I saw you stick to any type of normal pattern I'm eating carbohydrates now you know I need something to hold me down for real 'Cause I am just a wayward cloud in motion I am just a wayward cloud in motion Oh I need you to calm the fuck right down 'Cause when no one is around it's when you know me best Oh I want you to shut the fuck right up It can be so telepathic A little luck and some mathematics Yeah

Could have made it past the rip tide Could have made it past the phone call Could have made it through the stop light Could have made it through the checkpoints Oh, I I You You Oh, I I Oh, You You Could have made it past the outpost Could have made it farther than most Could have made it but we did not Now you got this bed to lie on And on And on Oh, I I I Oh, You You You You ain't it baby you ain't it Oh, I I I You ain't it baby you ain't it And you you you You ain't it You ain't it You ain't it You ain't it You ain't it You ain't it You ain't it You ain't it It ain't you You ain't it Ain't you You ain't it It ain't you You ain't it You ain't it It ain't you It ain't you You ain't it You ain't it I, I, I Could have made it past the phone call Could have made it past the outpost

How'd I do? 03:35
All along the watchtower the killing fields are ripe now I could never live the hype down I can't even get it up now All along the high road I just wanna get down so low I just wanna sit in silence Where love can be a violence Eyes just like two arrows Fuck bones, give me the marrow I'm taking out insurance policies on your words But sometimes there's an action And something gets ignited Then you called the rain down And then it's just plain arson How'd I do You keeping score I play to lose I dumb it down How'd I do striking chords Do I echo around like a ghost in the house of your mind How'd I do How'd I do How'd I do All along the four track you can play the tapes back I always had it in me The signs were all around you But no one likes a braggart And you never had her But does it even matter Her presence makes you swagger Talking in third person Trying to make some distance But if they panned out wide lens no one would be forgiven So set the camera panoramic So no matter how the light hits there's no running from the full view And no excuse to run to How'd I do You keeping score I play to lose I dumb it down How'd I do striking chords Do I echo around like a ghost in the house of your mind How'd I do How'd I do How'd I do Do I echo around like a ghost in the house of your mind How'd I do How'd I do How'd I do Do I echo How'd I do Do I echo Do I echo like a ghost in your house of your mind
